According to a Pitchfork article, Scottish twee-poppers Belle & Sebastian have begun recording again after a few years absence. During the interim, band leader Stuart Murdoch focused on his solo project, God Help the Girl, and the rest of the group took some time off.

This is very exciting news, as it seems like it has been forever since the group’s excellent 2006 album “The Life Pursuit.” While the details about what has been written are scarce right now, the article did mention that the group has written several new songs in Glasgow, which they will take to Los Angeles to record a new album with. The band has also added a couple of tour dates, but nothing has been announced yet about whether or not they will hit the United States any time soon. Until then, revisit “The Life Pursuit” and the rest of the band’s back catalog to reacquaint yourself with them. You may discover a song you can’t live without.
