According to MTV, New Orleans based rapper Lil Wayne has plead guilty to gun possession charges for a 2007 incident in New York City, which will likely result in a one-year sentence.
The website reports, “The police, who said they pulled the bus over because they smelled marijuana, searched the vehicle, found a gun and arrested Wayne on felony gun possession. He is scheduled to be sentenced in February of 2010.”
A whole year without a new Lil Wayne single? I can go for that. Unless, of course, he gets recording privileges while in prison. People will call it brilliant, or at the very least praise the irony of rapping about being in jail while being in jail. I will just roll my eyes and go back to listening to Cadence Weapon, thank you very much.
Dear Ryan,
Thank you for NOT making yourself sound like an idiot with my biggest pet peeve: failing to keep “jail” and “prison” straight. It irks me to no end to see statements such as “Apartments robbed!” (the appropriate verb being “burgled”) or “He is going to jail for several years.” There IS a difference between “jail” and “prison.” I applaud your journalism skills!
